We (are) The People!

In order to form a more perfect union… America MUST strive to achieve a just society. We are a country of too many laws and too little JUSTICE. Any law that is not economically just is not sustainable. Racism is not sustainable, inequality is not sustainable, and abject poverty is neither just nor sustainable.

Without Economic justice there can be no social justice. We cannot  promulgate laws that are inherently unjust. We cannot continue to permit a small minority of enormously wealthy to suppress the well being, income, and happiness of the many. Not if we are to be a SUSTAINABLE America.

While no one can assure equality of outcome, We MUST assure equality of opportunity and that is what we are missing today in America. There is NO equal opportunity. Laws have been passed that permit the sons and daughters of the wealthy to achieve the favored status of class over that of the average American. Laws have been passed that guarantee the voices of the wealth laden corporations speak louder than that of the smaller less well financed enterprises.

Education traditionally the path to the meritocracy has become so heavy a burden that many are being excluded because of purely financial reasons. Automation and ownership of these highly efficient labor eliminating tools has become so prevalent that we are eliminating jobs faster than we are creating them. The result is that labor is being devalued while capital and profits have escalated beyond all reason.

Sustainable development is the pathway to the future we want for all. It offers a framework to generate economic growth, achieve social justice, exercise environmental stewardship and strengthen governance.
